My Call to Ministry

JESUS CHRIST touches people in several different ways. Some like Zaccheaus up in a sycamore tree. It took Zaccheaus running ahead of the multitude and climbing up a tree to gain an advantageous view on Jesus Christ and the multitudes that passed by. Salvation was upon Zaccheaus' household that day (Luke 19:1-10).

Some are touched as well in a broad day light like the Samaritan woman, who was first touched by Jesus and who later introduced Him to multitudes in Samaria who would eventually believe in Him. (John 4:7-42). For others it was a midnight confrontation such as with Nicodemus (John 3:1-6) while for the Apostle Paul, he was first blinded while travelling on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:3-9).

I was called to take care of the flock after seeing several people being touched by The Lord Jesus Christ. Senior Pastor Glenn Dunlop of Karmel City Church, Belfast came with a team to preach the good news to souls in Malawi, fulfilling the Great Commission in Mark16:15-18, ‘‘Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. He who believes and baptised will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow who believe: In my name they will cast out demons; and they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.’ ’(NKJV). A lot of people were touched by his preaching and charisma and consequently accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Yolam was also touched upon seeing a lot of people being baptised in the name of The Lord Jesus Christ.

The Spirit of the Lord asked me to take care of the flock. At first, the spirit of fear suppressed me to say, "no, no, no." for I was afraid because I had no pastoral background. However, the Spirit of The Lord Jesus Christ talked to me and encouraged me take up the challenge. The Lord Jesus in Luke 5 called Simon, James and John who had no theological training background. He trained seasoned fishermen into great fishers of men in His Church. Jesus Christ can train you and I to be great fishers of men.

Jesus reaches people in numerous ways. He is in need of you. You can serve him in any other capacity wherever you are. All that's needed is to repent and be baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Call on Him now, you will be saved.
